A DIFFERENT KIND OF IP:

AN ETHICAL BUSINESS
We had many reasons for wanting to start our own patent law practice, but something we wanted to do right from the beginning was to build an ethical and responsible business with philanthropy right at the heart of it. We do this across our work, by: not billing for routine, simple enquiries or tasks; charging fairly and transparently; and giving a percentage of our time and our profits to good causes (for example educating clients and the wider scientific community on patent law or attorney careers).
MICRO BUSINESSES & INDIVIDUAL INVENTORS
We understand that the costs of hiring a qualified patent attorney can seem daunting to solo inventors, academics and unfinanced start-ups, but unadvised decisions at the outset can be fatal when it comes to securing strong IP. While our initial consultations are free to all clients, where appropriate we also provide solo inventors, academics and unfinanced start-ups with additional free advice and support to avoid early mistakes that might prove costly - legally and financially - down the line.
CHARITY SUPPORT
Starting our own practice gave us an opportunity to direct part of our profit towards causes we are passionate about. Each year we donate a percentage of our annual profits to two worthy charities - Act4Africa and the Against Malaria Foundation.
